EMERGENCY CLOSING POLICY: APPENDIX A
Poynette Area Public Library (PAPL)
Remote Work / Return to Work
Library Staff Plan
The following is the plan for PAPL to re-open to the public after an extended closure is decided upon by the Poynette Library Board of Trustees:
The Library Director works in the library building during the library’s schedule of “Open” hours. Duties include: answering phone calls and assisting patrons via email; handling mail; purchasing new materials; checking-in materials returned by patrons via the drop box; taking care of normal daily fiscal, personnel and statistical duties.
Part-time library employees may work in the building according to a set schedule determined by the Director. The Head of Circulation should maintain that collections work is caught up and circulation tasks are updated regularly. The Youth Services and Adult Services Program Coordinators can complete work tasks remotely, updating the Library’s website and Social Media platform and continuing to plan and prep for future programming.
Limited public services are restored as promptly as possible. This includes curbside pick-up of holds and other library materials. Patron copies, faxes and scan-to-email services will be conducted by the Director or other part-time library staff, via PAPL’s curbside pick-up format.
Additional sanitization of public areas by custodian and library staff may be required by the Director, when needed.
- PAPL will fully re-open to the public based on public safety guidelines provided by DPI, DHS and the Office of the Governor. Final determination of the re-open date will be made by the Poynette Library Board of Trustees.
