The Story That Cannot Be Told by J. Kasper Kramer, full of rebellion and fear, is a novel set in 1989 Romania, amidst chaos, a communist government, and an uprising. It tells the story of young Ileana, who is forced to leave her home to stay with family she’s never known after some unfortunate run-ins with the government. Her perpetual thirst for stories guides the young girl, and she learns secrets and truths she couldn’t have imagined as the conflict around her reaches a boiling point. This gripping novel can capture the attention of young and mature audiences alike, although the content is important to take into consideration. This story contains depictions/mentions of murder, coups, government corruption, communism, torture, and battles. If readers enjoyed The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst by Jaclyn Moriarty they would also be likely to enjoy The Story That Cannot Be Told by J. Kasper Kramer.
