The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes picks up at the end of the first novel in the series, The Inheritance Games. In the first novel Avery and the Hawthorne brother’s start their investigation into how and why Tobias Hawthorne, a well-known multi-billionaire, left most of his wealth and his estate to Avery Grambs, a seemingly random teenager. In this novel the group dive deeper into the history of the Hawthorne family and the mysterious figure that is Tobias Hawthorne.
This book is a continuation of the Inheritance Games Series and, much like the first book, keeps readers on the edge of their seats. This book is also a young adult mystery with the subplot of romance carrying over from the first book. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the first book and would like to learn more about why Avery was chosen to receive Tobias’ legacy.
