An intriguing novel about adventure, family, and mystery, Greenglass House by Kate Milford is a great story for mystery lovers. His parents adopted 12-year-old Milo as a baby and he now lives with them in an old inn, known to host many a smuggler due to its position on the river. The holiday season is usually slow, and Milo is looking forward to the quiet time off from school. However, as mysterious guests come pouring into the usually sleepy hotel, Milo and the cook’s daughter, Meddy decide it is up to them to solve the mysteries of this house and of its puzzling guests. I’d recommend this book to most audiences. Some themes found in this novel are ghosts, mentions of crime, and the usage of guns. Readers who enjoy other lighthearted mysteries are likely to enjoy Greenglass House.
