Tennessee Williams’ most famous creation, “A Streetcar Named Desire”, has a thought-out plot, and entertaining main characters.
This play is about a struggling character named Blanche DuBois. She shows up at her sister’s, Stella, house with her little belongings. Stella’s husband, Stanley believes that there is something wrong with Blanche and wants her out. Over time, love stories happen, and past stories of the characters are revealed allowing for clarity and for new stories to happen. I read this play for an AP Language class, and I did not like the wording that they used nor how uncomfortable the stories made me.
There are stories of rape, underage sex, and abuse. If you do not want to read about this type of gore, you would not like this play. (2 stars)
